Founded in Fukui, Japan, in 1905, Masunaga Optical is a heritage eyewear brand known for exceptional craftsmanship, precision, and design. Fukui is one of the world’s top three regions for eyeglass frame production, along with Italy and China—producing over 97% of all Japanese-made eyeglass frames.

Masunaga was the first eyewear manufacturer in Fukui, established by Gozaemon Masunaga. He brought expert artisans from Tokyo and Osaka to help elevate Japanese eyewear standards and lay the foundation for a thriving optical industry.
